Welcome to Colangelo Counseling
Therapy for OCD & Eating Disorders in NC & SC
You might be here because:
- Your mind won’t stop asking “what if?”
- You feel trapped in mental or physical rituals you can’t just “turn off”
- Food feels ruled by strict guidelines, guilt, or fear
- Control feels safer than uncertainty (even when it’s exhausting)
- You look high-functioning on the outside, but inside feels rigid and overwhelming
OCD and eating disorders often thrive on
rules, certainty, and control.
Together, we work to gently loosen those patterns — without shame, force, or judgment.
My Approach:
Hello I'm
Brianna Colangelo
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (NC), Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (SC)
I help clients across NC and SC navigate rigid rules, intrusive thoughts, and food patterns. If you’re looking for an eating disorder therapist in NC or an OCD therapist who understands control, I can help.
My work is grounded in evidence-based treatment for OCD and eating disorders, including exposure-based strategies and parts work.
This means we don’t just talk about symptoms, we work directly with the patterns that keep them in place.
In therapy, we will:
- Understand how control and rigidity developed as protective strategies
- Gradually reduce compulsions and avoidance behaviors
- Challenge food rules in a steady, supported way
- Build tolerance for uncertainty without overwhelming you
- Move toward a life guided by values (not fear)
In the process of completing Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals.
I am actively pursuing advanced training in ERP and IFS to deepen my work with these populations, and I practice under professional supervision to ensure high-quality, ethical care.
This is thoughtful, structured therapy. Delivered in a calm, collaborative way.
You don’t have to face rigid thoughts or food rules alone.
